Maldives Customs cleans market area

Celebrating 125 years of service, Maldives Customs Service has conducted a cleaning program at the local market this morning.

Customs said that today’s cleaning program was part of the activities planned throughout the year to celebrate their 125 years of service.

A large number of customs staff came out to take part in today’s program cleaning the area between the Customs Building and the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) on Boduthakurufaanu Magu, Haveeree Hingun, Kandidhonmaniku Goalhi and other streets in the area. They also cleaned the Local Market and “Dhathuruveringe Maarukeytu” (Traveller’s Market).

Customs also hosted a Fun Run and a Family Evening at the airport to celebrate their 125th anniversary. Maldives Customs say that a Family Day has been planned for the next Friday at the Male’ Head Office.
