Environment seminar held for visiting Singapore students

An environment seminar has been held for a group of students from the Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) of Singapore, who are in the Maldives on their first Community Service Trip, Window on World (WoW).

The seminar was organised by the Ministry of Environment and Energy, and Maldives Scout Association.

At the ceremony, a presentation session and an exchange of information session on biodiversity conservation, sustainable fishery, and water resource management in the Maldives were conducted for the students by technical staff of Environment Protection Agency (EPA) and Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture.

At the end of the session, Minister of Environment and Energy Thoriq Ibrahim addressed the students and talked about the importance of biodiversity and conservation for a country like Maldives.

He urged the students to care for the environment, and to be proactive and contribute constructively throughout their lives to protect the environment.

Also at the ceremony, tokens of appreciation were exchanged between Ministry of Environment and Energy and Anglo-Chinese School.
