Eesa departs to Sri Lanka for medical treatment

Former Kendhikulhudhoo MP Ahmed Eesa has been taken to Sri Lanka for medical treatment.

Sources have told Sun Online that he departed this afternoon.

Eesa cited his doctor at ADK Hospital and said earlier, that he had suffered spinal injuries near his neck and lower back.

This could not be confirmed from the hospital.

Eesa was arrested during a protest on 1 May, following which Criminal Court has given him a remand period of 15 days.

Police said that Eesa has been, however, released, to go abroad for medical treatment as recommended by doctors.
