West Park eviction begins

City Council has started the eviction process of West Park restaurant owned by the Chairman of Yacht Tours, Abdulla Jabir.

The Deputy Mayor of Male’ City Council, Shifa Mohamed told Sun Media today that the City Council began the eviction under Civil Court’s orders.

City Council changed the land to the former tennis player, Amir Mansoor when the permit for Jabir expired. But instead of clearing out, he has taken the case to the Civil Court.

Civil Court ended the case ordering the City Council to take the land from Jabir and give it to Mansoor.

Yacht Tours has been paying MVR 140,000 as rent to the state for that land while the agreement has expired on 30 September 2012.
