Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant for the Leader of Jumhooree Party, Qasim Ibrahim.
Reliable sources have confirmed to Sun Media that the warrant for the arrest of Qasim Ibrahim was issued for funding the opposition protest, “to end tyranny” held on 1 May.
While an arrest warrant has been issued against the Leader of Jumhooree Party, the party’s Vice President Ameen Ibrahim and the Foreign and Public Relations, Sobah Rasheed along with the MDP Chairperson, Ali Waheed and Leader of Adhaalath Party, Sheikh Imran Abdulla has been arrested for supporting and encouraging conflict between the protestors and the security forces in their speeches at the protest.
The Police media official told Sun Media that the Police are continuing their investigations regarding the May Day protest in Male’ City.
“We will continue arresting anyone that needs to be arrested regarding the investigations.” The Police media official said.
