18 super specialist doctors, who will treat patients in Malé, and islands in Seenu, Thaa, Shaviyani, and Baa atolls, have arrived in the Maldives.
This was announced by Minister of Health Ahmed Zuhoor, at a press conference at Lemongrass Citron on Friday night.
Zuhoor said that the team, from neighbouring countries, includes a neurologist, cardiologist, ENT specialist, urologist, and general physicians.
He said that this is part of the government’s policy to ensure that public services are accessible to everyone.
Speaking at the press conference, CEO of National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) Mujtaba Jaleel said that a large number of people registered to consult the super specialist doctors in the first round, but only few had the chance.
He said that those who registered before will have the chance to consult the doctors this time.
