Fifty people arrested in Friday

Fifty people who were arrested in the mass rally organised by opposition parties in Malé on Friday, 1 May 2015, have been released.

Police said that 24 people were released at around 11:30 p.m. yesterday.

Earlier, police said that 11 had been released during the day yesterday, and 15 early last night.

122 people still remain in police custody.

All suspects that were released, had been granted remand periods by Criminal Court.
