MoUs signed with Pakistan on education, health, sports, drug trafficking

Maldives has signed four Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with Pakistan, in the areas of education, health, sports, and drug trafficking.

The MoUs were signed today, and the signing ceremony was followed by a joint press conference by President Yameen and Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Shareef.

President Yameen thanked Pakistan for its assistance to the Maldives, and extended an invitation to Prime Minister Nawaz Shareef to attend the official Independence Day celebration event in the Maldives.

Prime Minister Nawaz Shareef said that discussions had been held regarding regional issues, and strengthening cooperation between the two countries in trade and tourism.

President Yameen is in Pakistan on a two-day state visit. He thanked the Pakistani government for the excellent hospitality extended to him and his delegation.
