MVR 50,000 donation for police officers injured in protest

An individual has donated MVR 50,000 to the two police officers who were attacked by protesters during the mass rally on Friday, 1 May.

Police said that the money has been handed over to the two officers.

The two police officers are receiving treatment in a hospital in Sri Lanka, and their condition is improving, said police.

Nine people have been arrested following the attack.

A total of 17 police officers were injured during the protest.
