Dhiraagu announces compensation for customers who experienced inconvenience

Dhiraagu has announced compensation through bills, for their customers who faced difficulties due to the disruption of internet services following their submarine cable being damaged.

Dhiraagu submarine cable was damaged on 18 April, but the problem has now been fixed.

Speaking to media, Dhiraagu Director Marketing Ahmed Maumoon said that details of the compensation will be communicated to their ADSL customers.

“We have sent details of the compensation to our ADSL customers,” Maumoon said.

Touchnet Postpaid customers will be given a 20% discount till the end of the month, Touchnet Prepaid customers will be allowed free 200MB till 15 May, and Mobile Internet Customers will be given a 20% allowance.

Dhiraagu Manager Marketing Communications and Public Relations Mohamed Mirshan Hassan said that similar problems are faced everywhere in the world, and that Dhiraagu will try to avoid such problems in the future.

Dhiraagu submarine cable was damaged by a ship’s anchor about 26km off Sri Lanka at a depth of 40m.
