And that Police recognize the need of speed breakers to reduce the speeds of the vehicles on the road.
And the investigation has noted that while there is an area for 60 kilometer speeds and lower and ther are no visible street signs.
“And so even today, the Police and the Addu City Coucil discussed to resolve the issues with the traffic in Addu City. Drawing the parking zones, installing traffic signs in areas they are much needed and marking the areas for speed breaks and preparation for that work has been discussed.” Asim said.
Superintendent Asim said that the reasons for traffic collisions include not using the indicator, coming out to major roads from small ones without using the indicator or without stopping or without looking at the oncoming traffic and double parking at the corners making it difficult for vehicles to make turns.
