Saudi Arabia donates 50 tons of dates

Saudi Arabia has donated 50 tons of dates to the Maldives.

The dates were officially handed over to the Maldivian government by two visiting officials of the Ministry of Finance of Saudi Arabia. The donation was accepted by Deputy Minister of Finance of Maldives, Abdulla Nashid, at a ceremony at the ministry this morning.

Finance Ministry said that the dates, worth $70,666, will be distributed to the people via island councils over the next month.

Saudi Arabia gifts dates ahead of Ramadan every year.
