An information seminar has been held on the scientific research on coral reefs by the ICUN, Catlin Seaview Survey, University of Queensland and Marine Research Center.
At the seminar held yesterday at the central auditorium of the Maldives National University, information was shared on recognizing the impact of human behavior on coral reefs.
ICUN said that the research being conducted would make it easier to measure the damages to the coral reefs.
ICUN said that they would conduct their research in the reef area of six or eight atolls in the country. Including four areas that has no influence of human impact.
They said that with the use of special cameras in the research, a 3D map of the coral arrangement would be created.
ICUN has been conducting research round the globe to recognize the state of coral reefs.
