The parliament sitting scheduled for today is under way, amid protests by MPs of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)
MDP members started using megaphones and whistles to make noise, as soon as the sitting was opened by the Speaker.
Items on today’s agenda include debates on Amendment Bills on the Tourism Act and the Import-Export Act.
Opposition MPs have protested at the parliament since it was inaugurated for 2015, accusing the Speaker of conducting the sittings in violation of regulations.
