Maldives Police Services has said that it’s not their regulation to keep those who are not being charged in custody.

The Police press release said this in a press release when the Prosecutor General said that there are those who are not being charged in Police custody.

The press release says that if there is someone in Police custody that is not being charged but is under investigation with days added to his hold, the police would keep them until the investigation is complete or court orders to release them.

The Prosecutor General, Muhuthaz told the media that discussions are being held with relevant institutes about people in Police custody without being charged.
