Two more roads to be vehicle-free in Male

Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure has decided to ban vehicles in two more roads in Male’.

Earlier, the ministry made Raiyvilla Magu and Heenaa Goalhi in Henveyru vehicle-free, but the decision was revoked days later.

Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Dr Mohamed Muizzu said that the decision to close two new roads, which will be revealed later, follows requests from residents in those areas.

Efforts are also ongoing to implement a policy to ban parking near schools, said Dr Muizzu.

Presently, it is prohibited to park near the gates of Aminiya School and Ahmadiyya School at the end of the school sessions.

Parking is also not allowed on Thaajuddin Hingun from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
