MP Siyam decides to pay for Hajj trip for man was robbed of money saved for Hajj

Meedho MP Ahmed Siyam Mohamed has decided to pay for the Hajj trip for a man who was threatened with a knife and robbed while he was on his way to make the payment for his Hajj trip.

Ahmed Abdullah of Aafas, B. Thulhaadhoo was robbed of Rf70,000 near Macchangolhi cemetery by a masked group while he was on his way to Classify Hajj and Umra Group office to make the payment.

Siyam said that he made the decision to give the money as soon as he learned of this incident, and that the man has now been informed of his decision.

“I have informed him that I will make it possible for his to go for Hajj. He has no way of making this trip otherwise. He had saved the money by working hard for many years. I did this for God, because this happened to someone who will not be able to afford it otherwise,” Siyam said.

Ahmed Abdullah is the principal of Thulhaadhoo School. He has thanked Siyam today for facilitating his Hajj trip.

Ahmed Abdullah said that he was on his way to the office on 16 April with the money in his bag, when a group of three people approached him, threatened him with a knife, tore his t-shirt, and took the money:

“I am grateful to Siyam. I want to meet him and talk to him. I was on my way on 16 April at 6:10 because I had to leave Male’ at 9:00. A masked group of three people threatened me with a knife, tore my t-shirt and stole the money.”
