Fire breaks out in Hulhumal

A fire incident has occurred at the area next to Flat 1 in Hulhumalé.

Police said that the fire broke out in the trees in the area, at around 2:00 p.m.

Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Spokesperson said that the fire has been extinguished, and no one was hurt in the incident.

The fire also did not cause any major damage to any property, he said.

Heavy smoke continues to billow from the trees.

In unrelated events, fires broke out in two locations in Malé on Thursday night.
