Raajje TV reporter, cameraman arrested

Raajje TV Reporter Mohamed Visam and Cameraman Adam Zareer have been arrested during the protest and taken to Dhoonidhoo on Wednesday night.

Police Information Officer, Station Inspector Ismail Ali said that they were arrested for breaking through the barricades and obstructing police duties, as the protesters started moving towards Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) area.

Including the two journalists, a total of nine arrests were made during the protest on Wednesday night, said Ismail Ali.

This includes Galolhu-South MP Ahmed Mahloof, who also attempted to break through the barricades set up by the police.

A Channel One reporter was arrested during the protest the night before. He has been given a remand period of five days by the court.
