Five children from Nadella placed in state care

The state has removed five children from home in Nadella and placed them in its care.

Human Right Commission of the Maldives (HRCM) said that the five children, belonging to the same family, were removed from their home by Ministry of Law and Gender, in relation to a case under investigation by the commission.

No details have been disclosed regarding the children’s situation, age, or gender.

HRCM said that efforts were ongoing by the ministry to provide assistance to the mother, in terms of health and other areas.
