State: Nazim planned attacks on President Yameen, Minister Adeeb, Police Commissioner Waheed

The State Prosecutor has said in court that according to the information on the pen drive confiscated by police from the apartment of former Minister of Defence Mohamed Nazim, Nazim had planned attacks on President Abdulla Yameen, Minister of Tourism Ahmed Adeeb, and Commissioner of Police Hussain Waheed, and that these plans were funded by Villa Group, State Trading Organisation (STO), and a person named Riyaz.

The prosecutor responded as such when the Judges bench asked the prosecution to reveal the evidence found on the pen drive to the court.

He said that a plan to attack those three were found on the pen drive.

The prosecutor also said that the evidence on the pen drive also contained information about bring a crisis to the Male' Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) as a joint party mission, the former health minister Dr. Mariyam Shakeela, the bench of judges at Supreme Court and the voting procedure to elect a Prosecutor General.

He also said that the pen drive reveals a man named "AF" getting foreign aid from Singapore and Malaysia and the weapons are being collect by man code named "Boduboalha". And a plan was formed to attack the three officials of the government with where they would live in Male'.

Nazim's lawyers presented the names of more than 40 defense witnesses in court today. These witnesses include President Yameen, Police Commissioner Hussain Waheed, Home Minister Umar Naseer, Head of the Police Intelligence Ahmed Areef and the former Head of the Police Intelligence, Mohamed Hameed.

Nazim's lawyer, Maumoon Hameed said that a Corpral from the MNDF lost a handgun last year at Shangri-La resort. And it was a Browning 9mm handgun, the same as the one found at Nazim's home.

At the end of today's hearing, Judge Baaree Yousuf said that among the defense witnesses, only those decided by the court. And he scheduled testimonials from state witnesses in the next hearing.
