Criminal court has ordered the release of the Medhu-Henveiru MP Ali Azim from police custody on the condition that he does not take part in protest rallies for 60 days.
Azim was taken to court for a remand hearing today following the expiration of his remand period.
MP Azim was arrested near President Abdulla Yameen’s residence during a protest led by opposition groups, on 22 February.
Police said shortly after his arrest that he had tested positive for drugs.
