Economic minister Mohamed Saeed said Japan is ready to invest in the Maldives.
In an interview to Sun from Japan, Minister Saeed, who is in Japan leading the emissary following the president’s lead, said they have met with the leaders of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan and other economic institutes.
The minister said the talks were to continue the trade and investments between the country and Japan is ready to invest in the Maldives. And the Japanese companies are interested in investing in Maldives.
“Japan approves of President Yameen’s economic agenda and discussions were made to achieve it’s goals.” The minister said.
Minister also said that flights between Maldives and Japan were discussed to develop the Maldivian tourism sector.
With the discussion about the development of Ibrahim Nasir International Airport (INIA), the minister tells, the USD 400 million loan would we approved very soon and the work would start soon.
The emissaries would go to China tomorrow after their trip to Japan.
