Qasim: I have no pending payments to MIRA

Chairman of Villa Group and leader of Jumhooree Party (JP) Qasim Ibrahim says he has no pending payments to the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA).

Speaking to the press after his visit to Sri Lanka, Qasim said there are no pending payments to MIRA and all his payments are being made on schedule.

According to sources, MIRA has issued a 30 notice to Villa Group to collect an estimate of a 100 million USD in fines and rents regarding the islands and lagoons under Villa Group for development.

MIRA’s media official says they would not share information about individual citizens to the media. They cannot confirm or deny that such a notice has been sent.
