Pregnant woman in traffic collision dies

After sustaining serious injuries in a traffic collision in Male’ last Monday night, the pregnant woman involved died today in the ICU of Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.

The hospital’s Information Officer Zeenath Ali Habeeb said that the woman, six weeks along in her pregnancy, died this morning around 7:10 a.m., and her body has now been moved to the cemetery.

Sources say that in the collision that took place at Canary Magu last Monday night, in addition to the woman, her son suffered bruising to the head, and abrasions to the elbows and shin.
