Brigadier General Retired Ibrahim Mohamed Didi, who has been charged with terrorism following arrest of Chief Judge of Criminal Court Abdulla Mohamed against law, has denied the terrorism charge against him.
Lawyer of the state, Aishath Fazna Ahmed in her statement noted that Ibrahim Didi had been charged over that case because he had worked as a Commander in the operation conducted to arrest Judge Abdhulla following the order of Head of Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) Mohamed Nasheed, when Ibrahim Didi served as the Commander of MNDF for Male’ Area.
Following the statement, Ibrahim Didi who is Hithadhoo-medhu MP, said it is a political charge and that it is saddening that some people see MNDF as an institution that promote terrorism.
Hearing on Tuesday was concluded by giving a three days’ period for Ibrahim Didi to appoint a lawyer.
