Three days to appoint lawyer given to Moosa Ali Jaleel

Defense Minister Major General Moosa Ali Jaleel, who has been charged with terrorism following arrest of Chief Judge of Criminal Court Abdulla Mohamed against law, has been given three days to appoint a lawyer.

In the hearing held at Criminal Court on Tuesday, Moosa Ali Jaleel has said that his lawyer has submitted form to court and has requested for the documents related to the case.

Lawyer of the state, Aishath Fazna Ahmed in her statement noted that Moosa Ali Jaleel had been charged over that case because he was involved in the discussions held and operation conducted to arrest Judge Abdhulla following the order of Head of MNDF Mohamed Nasheed and taking Judge Abudulla to Kaafu Girifushi after arresting him forcefully on 16 January 2012 at around 12:00 midnight when Moosa Ali Jaleel was serving as the Chief of Defense Force.
