Motorcycle set alight in Hulhudheli

A motorcycle has been destroyed after it was set alight, in Dhaalu Hulhudheli.

The island council spokesperson Mohamed Abdul Baaree told Sun Online that the vehicle was burned on the southern beach of the island.

He said that the perpetrators are likely to have used petrol to set the fire, and that the activities took place far from the island’s residential area.

He further said that the owner of the vehicle had not been threatened by anyone, and could not name anyone who might be a suspect.

No similar incidents have taken place in the island ever before, he said, and the police have been alerted.

Police said that a fire incident involving a vehicle was reported from Hulhudheli at 9:15 a.m. today, and the case is under investigation.
