President reconstitutes National Award for Special Achievement Committee

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom has reconstituted the Committee on National Award for Special Achievement, following the end of the term of the previous committee.

According to the President’s Office, Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture Dr. Mohamed Shainee has been appointed as the Chairman of the committee.

The other members appointed to the committee are Dr. Mohamed Asim, Dr. Ibrahim Zakariya Moosa, Doctor Mariyam Suzy Adam and Dr. Ibrahim Yasir.

The purpose of the award is to support and commemorate the individuals who achieve honors at the international level. The president’s office also said that this award also encourages the individuals striving for such honors.

This special prize is awarded at the ceremony celebrating Republic Day.
