Detention extended for 10 people arrested from uninhabited island

Detention period has been extended for 10 out of 14 people arrested on suspicion of intoxication from Laamu Maavashi, an uninhabited island near Laamu Maavah.

Police media official on Tuesday evening said to Sun Online that five days’ remand period have been issued by Laamu Gan Thun’di Magistrate Court to 10 out of 14 people arrested.

Official said that police have released 4 out of 14 men arrested.

Police on Monday said that a minor was also included among the people arrested.

The case is under investigation by police.
