Gili Lankanfushi donates 50 bicycles to Education Ministry

Luxury resort Gili Lankanfushi has donated 50 bicycles to Ministry of Education, to be distributed to schools in nearby islands.

The donation was presented by General Manager of Gili Lankanfushi Steven Phillips and accepted by Minister of Education Dr Aishath Shiham, at a ceremony at Education Ministry this morning.

Education Ministry has said that the bicycles will be provided to students as well as school staff in the islands; and that island size, student population, and transport system were considered in distributing the bicycles.

Gili Lankanfushi, located in Malé atoll, practices environment-friendly tourism, and has funded many developmental projects in nearby inhabited island Himmafushi.
