Foreign Minister meets with Indian External Affairs Minister

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives Dunya Maumoon has met with Minister of External Affairs of India Sushma Swaraj.

The meeting was first announced on Twitter by Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs of India Syed Akbaruddin.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that at the meeting held in New Delhi, Dunya highlighted the close historical ties between the two countries based on shared values and mutual respect, and also expressed appreciation for the continued assistance and cooperation from India for the socio-economic development of the Maldives.

Both ministers also discussed ways of further strengthening the close relations between the two countries, the ministry said.
