Adeeb denies allegations of links with Asward

Minister of Tourism Ahmed Adeeb has denied allegations that he is associated with Ibrahim Waheed (Asward), who resigned from his post of CEO of Raajje TV today.

Raajje TV said yesterday that Asward resigned after the station found out that he had been involved in setting up a TV channel funded by a senior government official.

Amid rumours that Raaje TV's accusations were directed at him, Adeeb tweeted yesterday:

I Deny the allegations that I am associated with Raajje TV or Asward.I blv Raajje TV is a independent Channel & Asward is a great Journalist

Meanwhile, Velidhoo MP Abdulla Yameen, who serves as an Advisor to Raajje TV, recently joined ruling party Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM).
