Police: Intelligence knew that Nazim tried to change government

Police have said that Police Intelligence has received information that former Defense Minister in collaboration with some other people, has made plans to change the present government.

A statement released by Police on Tuesday night read that Nazim was arrested on Monday night because Police Intelligence has received information that Nazim was planning anti-government activities.

It was noted in the statement that plans aiming to cause physical harm to some leaders of the government were indicated in a document they have seen from the pen drive police have confiscated from Nazim’s apartment in their raid on 17 January 2015.

Police said that they have confiscated a pistol, a magazine, three bullets, and an improvised explosive device (IED) from the apartment where Nazim was residing in G.Enif.

He was arrested on suspicion of possession of weapons under court warrent on Monday night after the case was sent to the Prosecutor General’s Office for prosecution on Monday afternoon.
