Brigadier General Ahmed Mohamed has been dismissed from his post as Vice Chief of Defense Force.
President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom has appointed Brigadier General Ahmed Shahid as Vice Chief of Defense Force after dismissing Ahmed from the post.
President’s Office did not reveal the reason behind removal of Ahmed from the post, who has served as Vice Chief of Defense Force for three years.
Ahmed has been appointed as Vice Chief of Defense Force by the former President Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik after Farhath Shaheer, who had been appointed by former President Mohamed Nasheed retired from the post.
