Two Police Officers arrested with drugs

Two Police Officers and an additional man have been arrested with a box containing a substance believed to be drugs in Fuvahmulah.

Police Media Official on Sunday said to Sun Online that two Police Officers and the additional man were arrested on Saturday under an operation conducted by Fuvahmulah Police Station when they were at the airport to receive a box sent in an airplane from Male’.

“They went to get a box sent to Fuvahmulah in a flight. Three people were arrested after receiving information suggesting that the box contained drugs. The box had a small box containing a substance believed to be drugs” said Media Official.

According to Media Official all the three people arrested were males and they are of ages 29, 27, and 21 years.

He said that Police have started investigating the case and that Fuvahmulah Magistrate has given a remand duration of five days for the three of them.
