Bandhu Ibrahim Saleem has been dismissed from his post of Managing Director of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).
This has been confirmed to Sun Online by President’s Office Spokesperson Ibrahim Muaz Ali.
Muaz did not provide any details, but said, “Changes are being made to political posts by the President, as required.”
Neither MACL nor Saleem was available for a comment at the time of publication.
Saleem was appointed as Managing Director of MACL on 21 June 2013, prior to which he held the post of Chairman of Island Aviation. He has served in the aviation industry for many years.
Saleem’s dismissal comes after a case was submitted to the parliament against him, by MPs of ruling party Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) and Maldives Development Alliance (MDA).
