Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has said that they have confiscated seven lands that were leased to media for not developing the lands as stated in the agreement.
Medial Official of HDC has on Sunday said to Sun Online that agreements of seven lands that were leased to media have been canceled for disobeying agreements.
He said that it was just a rumor that HDC has confiscated the land that belong to the media company of the MP of Maamigili and Jumhoory Party (JP) leader Qasim Ibrahim alone. He said that land leased to Island Broadcasting Company (IBC) which is the subsidiary company of V Media was also among the lands taken for not following the agreement.
CEO of V Media Ibrahim Khaleel has said to Sun Online on Sunday that the land had been confiscated on 15 January after the company had made the payments for the upcoming three months of this year.
HDC has leased lands to Media for a 25 years' duration during President Mohamed Nasheed’s government in 2010.
