Minister of Defence Mohamed Nazim’s apartment has been searched by the police.
Sun Online has learned that police broke the door and entered the apartment at around 3:30 a.m.
An eyewitness told Sun Online that police left the premises at around 6:00 a.m. with several documents. Sources have also told Sun Online that police also searched the apartment across Nazim’s apartment, resided by foreign nationals.
When contacted, Nazim said that information related to this issue would be provided to media by the police. The police spokesperson, when contacted, said that it was not possible to reveal any information regarding this operation.
This comes at a time when opposition groups are saying that Nazim would soon be dismissed from his ministerial post.
In addition to being Defence Minister, Nazim is also the Acting Minister of Health, and President of the Local Government Authority (LGA). He also acted as the Chairperson of the Task Force established by President Yameen following the water crisis in December 2014.
