17-year-old stabbed in assault in Mal

A 17-year-old boy has been stabbed in an assault that took place in Malé this evening.

Police said that the incident took place at around 6:00 p.m.

Sources have told Sun Online that the boy was stabbed in the back, and is receiving treatment at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH). Details of his injuries were unavailable at the time of publication.

An investigation is under way but no one has been arrested yet, said the police.
