Government has plans to build rehab in Hulhumal

The government has planned to build a drug rehabilitation center in Hulhumalé as part of the new youth city, said Dr. Muhammad Jameel Ahmad, the Deputy President.

In a tweet last night, Deputy President Dr. Jameel said that fighting against drugs is one of the key priorities of President Yameen.

“As part of the President’s efforts against drugs, a drug rehabilitation center is to be built at Hulhumalé Youth City”, said Dr. Jameel.

The Maldives Police Service has launched a K-Nine Dog Squad, in its fight against drug offences. According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the dogs for the Squad are currently under training abroad, and they will arrive here sometime in February or March this year.
