Police patrol INIA on bicycles

The Tourist Unit of the Maldives Police Service has started using bicycles to patrol Ibrahim Nasir International Airport (INIA).

The police spokesperson told Sun Online that this was launched at the start of 2015, and that the purpose was to work closely with the people to ensure security and protection in the tourist area.

He added that police would also be using other vehicles in INIA, in addition to bicycles.

Police also use bicycles to patrol Vilimale’ and several other islands.
