President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom and US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs have discussed on ways to strengthen cooperation in the international arena on areas of mutual concern such as in global fight against terrorism.
This discussion was carried out in a meeting held at President’s Office on Wednesday with US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Nisha Biswal. However, President’s Office has not revealed details of that discussion.
President’s Office said that, views were exchanged between both countries on avenues for enhancing close friendly relations that exist between Maldives and United States in the meeting held at the President’s Office on Wednesday morning.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dunya Maumoon, Ambassador at Large, Ahmed Mohamed and Senior Officials of Embassy of US in Colombo attended the meeting.
