The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has conducted a training program on Islamic capital marketing in partnership with the Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI). The 5-day program was completed and certificates were handed out to participants yesterday, at a special ceremony held at the Islamic Ministry.
Speaking to reporters after yesterday’s ceremony, Dr. Aishath Muneeza, the Deputy Minister of Islamic Affairs, said that topics covered in the program were Islamic capital marketing and Islamic finance.
Dr. Muneeza said that the purpose of the program was to develop human resource in the Maldives in the area of Islamic capital marketing. She said that Islamic finance has been pursued and developed in the world for a long time even though it has been introduced in the Maldives quite recently. She said that the training program was aimed at training professionals to work locally to the internationally set standards in Islamic finance.
Dr. Muneeza and a foreign expert instructed the participants at the program.
In addition to a number of local finance experts, participants from Malaysia, Turkey, Indonesia and Brunei also participated in the program.
