16-year-old runaway girl found and returned to family

Police said that Shifa Mohamed of G.Greenbeans, the 16-year-old runaway girl from family has been found and returned to the family.

Police said that Shifa Mohamed has been found in a room at a house of Maafannu district under the search operation commenced after her family reported the case of having her runaway on 19 October 2014.

Police said that staff of Family and Child Protection Department of Maldives Police Service went and checked the room with permission of the owner of the house after police got information regarding whereabouts of Shifa.

Police also said that a 25-year-old man, who has been suspected for hiding Shifa was arrested.

Police said that Family and Child protection Department of Maldives Police Service have started the investigations of Shifa being runaway from family and hidden Shifa from the family.
