Tourist dies after falling from sun deck on safari boat

A tourist has fallen to his death from the sun deck of a safari boat near Haa Dhaalu Kulhudhuffushi.

The police spokesperson told Sun Online that the incident took place yesterday afternoon, and the tourist was taken to Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital when he fell and suffered a head injury.

Sources have told Sun Online that the tourist slipped and fell while trying to sit on a chair on the deck.

Manager at Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital Mohamed Hassan told Sun Online that the 56-year-old man from France was unconscious and bleeding from the head when he was taken to the hospital at around 3:30 p.m. yesterday.

“He had suffered a deep head injury. We can’t determine the exact injuries without a CT scan,” said Mohamed Hassan.

He further said that the victim died at around 7:00 p.m. yesterday while preparations were ongoing to take him to Male’.

His remains arrived in Male’ early this morning.
