The National Security Committee of the parliament has approved the appointment of Ahmed Mohamed as the Maldivian Ambassador to India.
This motion was voted in favour by all members present at today’s committee meeting.
The committee’s evaluation and approval report has been submitted to the parliament, and the parliament will vote on approving Ahmed Mohamed as the new Ambassador to India tomorrow.
Ahmed Mohamed has served as a cabinet minister in Dr Mohamed Waheed’s government. The present government first appointed him as Commissioner General of Customs, and later as Ambassador-at-Large of Foreign Ministry at Minister level.
