Education Minister Dr Aishath Shiham has requested principals to increase the involvement of parents as much as possible in managing schools.
Speaking in the closing ceremony of the orientation program conducted for principals of all schools of Maldives held at Maldives Polytechnic today, Education Minister said that while developing quality students is the goal of schools, parents and Ministry of Education, these three parties must work together in order to reach the goal.
“It is a request for all the principals to increase involvement of parents and to strengthen relationship with parents in managing schools,” said education Minister.
Minister Dr Aishath Shiham said that parents must be given opportunities to monitor, inquire, and participate in school activities and to criticise and provide feedback regarding issues of school.
Minister Dr Aishath Shiham said that in order to strengthen the role of all stakeholders of schools, preparation of handbooks that are to be used for managing schools and revision of the circulars sent to schools regarding school management 20 years ago were in progress.
