Council: Shahum, Fariyash were seen on a ferry travelling from Dhiffushi to Male

Kaafu Dhiffushi Council has said that there are rumours in the island that the two dangerous convicts, Ibrahim Shahum Adam, 23, G. Cosy, Male’, and Fariyash Ahmed, 26, Javaahiruvaadhee, Gaafu Alifu Maamendhoo, who have escaped from Maafushi prison, have been seen by a group of people on a ferry travelling from Dhiffushi to Male’ City this morning.

President of Dhiffushi Council, Ibrahim Anees said to Sun Online this evening that, according to the talks in the island, some people have seen the two criminals who have escaped from Maafushi prison in Dhiffushi on Saturday evening and on the ferry which travelled from Dhiffushi to Male’ City this morning.

“I’m not sure that they were seen. But there are talks in the island that some people had seen them last night, and that some people saw them on the ferry which departed to Male’ city at 7:00 a.m. today,” said Anees.

Police Media Official said that search efforts for the two convicts are ongoing.

“Police are still trying to find those criminals by searching Male’ and nearby places. There is no further information yet,” said media official.

Earlier today, the police warned the public to be cautious over the two escaped dangerous convicts, who remain at large since Friday night.
