Minister of Tourism and Chairman of the Investment Board Ahmed Adeeb has said that the assessments related to the Male’-Hulhumale’ bridge project, and the survey to determine the locations of the bridge piers, will commence on Friday.
In an interview, Adeeb told Sun Online, “The Chinese survey team will arrive in Maldives on 23 October. This will be carried out under the agreement between the governments of China and Maldives,” said Adeeb.
He further said that the survey will be funded by free aid provided by China, under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two countries during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s recent visit to the Maldives.
Adeeb said that a date of completion for the survey will be decided once it is underway.
